Home Roasting on a Rainy Day

I did a series of roasts today and videoed the efforts as a practice run for a proper little movie I want to make a little later. It's very brief and a bit rough but you'll get the idea.

Also GOT to remember to adjust the white balance outside. . .

The beans were rather small lots - around 300g each which is about half of what I would normally roast in a batch. I wanted to see how the roast profile changed for different beans with the mass change.

I also realised that the greater bean mass means less beans flung from the pan by the paddle - 600 grams really does seem to be the optimum for this roasting method.

  1. 600g is definitely the ideal amount, when I did 300g I had more beans on the benchtop than in the roaster!!!
